Hey there, I'm Meg!

I'm really into food, but not into wasting it. Scrap Eats was inspired by making recipes out of whatever was on hand so nothing would be wasted, or skata, as we called it in my college house. These recipes included using parts of fruits and vegetables that I'd never thought about eating, which ultimately led to this blog as a space to explore just how many foods are not used to their full potential.

We all need food, yet so much of it is wasted every day. The inefficiencies surrounding food frustrate me, but playing in the kitchen brings me joy. This is a space to explore because recipes are only guidelines, and food should never be wasted.
